Lucille B. and William D. Pinder, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Mr. and Mrs. Pinder lived in Cecil County for 50 years and were farmers. Mr. Pinder also worked over the years as a police officer for the Town of Elkton, in the state’s attorney’s office, and as a truck driver. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club. Mrs. Pinder was a homemaker, as well as an active volunteer. They felt strongly about education and the special needs of young people without means for an education. The family established this scholarship in their memory as a way to perpetuate how they felt about the importance of continuing ones education.
