In Honor of Greg and Danita Walker Scholarship

This scholarship has been established in 2021 as a thank you to my parents, Greg and Danita Walker, and to acknowledge their perseverance through life’s many obstacles. Greg and Danita, both hailing from Iowa, married and started a family at a young age and while the odds should have been against them, they created a wonderful life and now 40 years later continue to be an inspiration. Moving to Cecil County in 1981 Greg and Danita quickly became part of the North East community. Eventually having a family of four daughters, their spouses and 7 grandchildren, they have instilled the traits of hard work, compassion, community service, and most of all love. Greg, a master craftsman, runs his own home building company and in his free time loves to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. Danita, the true rock of the family, is recently retired and now spends her time spoiling her grandchildren, cheering on the Orioles, and going on adventures- both local and around the world. May Greg & Danita’s love, hard work, and dedication to family inspire all who receive this scholarship.
