Ann Nickle Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Ann Nickle Memorial Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Laura “Ann” Nickle. Ann was a member of the North East United Methodist Church, a graduate of North East High School, and was attending Cecil College with the intention of becoming a nurse. Tragically, Ann died in 1994 as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident. Ann spent her life helping family and friends. No matter the need, from helping you move, painting a new apartment, a word of encouragement, a loan, a hug or a smile, or just being there for you.
Ann especially loved her parents, brother, grandparents, aunts, cousins and her dog Sandy (a stray that decided to stay with her), and many, many friends. To Ann a stranger was a friend she hadn’t met yet.
In keeping with her life of caring and giving, her family and friends wanted to express the way she enriched their lives by continuing to act in the positive way she lived. And to show that positive influence in their lives by establishing the Ann Nickle Memorial Nursing Scholarship. So that in her name others will continue to be helped. In doing so, this will make life a little better for many, in turn those others will extend the same spirit of caring and giving to the people in their lives. Ann would expect no less.
